Quick Update
The boys are getting bigger by the minute and truly make me laugh all of the time. Miles even makes me laugh when I'm trying to discipline. That doesn't work out so well. ::sigh::
We have added 4 new members to our family -- 4 cats. I'm not really sure what got into me. The boys love them to death and are learning responsibility of having pets.
Graham is enjoying Kindergarten; with Kindergarten means Kids for Christ at church. Graham loves being able to be with the big kids and learn about Jesus! I love watching him come home and engage Miles in conversation about the Bible. Graham loves praying at dinner time and truly believes that he "prays like a pastor". I love his little heart!
Jeff has recently become involved with a prison ministry. This has led to interesting conversation and comments from the kids -- especially our comedian, Miles. When we were walking out of a local grocery store, where girl scouts were selling cookies, Miles loudly states "hey mom! We need to buy some cookies for when dad's in jail." With the ministry, the guys bring cookies in for the inmates. I'm glad Miles understands, but I could do without the awkward looks of those passing by.
Miles. Well, Miles continues to be Miles. Making us laugh at unexpected moments. He is such a logical thinker. Conversations usually involve in depth explanation of how a water plant works, how a special holiday person can exist if a plane ride to Japan is 18hrs, how can a guitar be tuned just by turning a "string knob" this way vs that, etc.
I love being the wife to such a great husband, friend & dad; I love being the mom to these two special boys! God continues to bless me in more ways than I could ever imagine.
These pics sum up personalities pretty well...

It's not that I'm a bad cook, I'm just lazy
Ok, hubs admits that I'm not a bad cook. (and really - he means it, he's not just telling me that...and even if he doesn't mean it, I'm going with what was verbalized regardless of the truth behind it)
I just work nights (confession: nights/days it doesn't matter what I work really) and live tired.
I can follow a recipe well, prefer to bake over cooking, can throw anything into a crock-pot, can't cook like my mama or NaNa to save my life, and gourmet is out of the question.
My sister on the other hand, well she can look at something and recreate it when she gets home.
So when smoke started pouring out of the toaster oven and a loud "ugh! I burned my pop-tart!" I felt like I wasn't that big of a kitchen failure.

Weekend of fun
To quote my husband "What are dad and 2 little boys to do when mom is out of town? Yesterday was Disney in the morning and SeaWorld in the afternoon. This morning is Blizzard Beach..."
Makes me feel less guilty about my trip knowing that they are having fun. I'm enjoying sweet baby cuddles and kisses from Kate. And time with my sister & brother-in-law!

Quick update
Jeff was invited to play a classical guitar concert back home in Illinois. So last week, in 2 suitcases weighing a total of 98lbs, the 4 of us hopped on a plane and headed out for a week of vacation. The boys had a blast on the plane and were spoiled by grandparents.
We didn't let the cold and rain stop us; we visited museums, ate dinner with friends, and toured the zoo in the rain.
We returned home on Wednesday, enjoyed our own beds for a night, then headed back to the airport to drop me off to fly to Texas!
After dropping me off at the airport, the boys headed off to SeaWorld for some fun.
I'll update with more pictures soon but for now, I'll leave you with a picture of the little jet-setters!

My little astronauts
Today we spent the day at Kennedy Space Center for an Astronaut show. The boys shook hands with over a dozen astronauts and were amazed that these men and women actually have been in space.
The highlight of the day was the special tour of the Vehicle Assembly Building. We actually walked into the very building were the shuttles were assembled. But the best part ... We were among some of the first civilians allowed to see Endeavor up close. We were within 15 feet of the actual shuttle. Amazing doesn't begin to describe the experience. I pray Graham will remember the experience, but te pictures and stories of today will last forever for both boys.
Here is a quick *unattractive* family picture of the four of us in front of Endeavor.

Update on Kate
Lindsey just updated her blog with the latest on Kate. Kate was admitted on Tuesday, after her central line was placed. She was to have chemo start on Wednesday. Unexpectedly, Kate spike a 103 temp and was placed into isolation. This changed her start date for chemo and her transplant. She tested positive for a cold virus, and the transplant doctor needs her to be 14 days out from the onset of the fever/virus.
They were discharged home today and will be readmitted on Aug. 23, with chemo to start on Aug. 24, and transplant to occur on Sept. 2.
Lindsey's friend and I are working on coordinating meals for Lindsey, Alex, and Kate. As Lindsey learned during this admission, she has very little time to go to the restroom, let alone get food for herself. If you are interested in donating a meal to them, please email me, and I can set you up with the link for the meal plans.
Thanks again for all of your prayers. They are truly felt, and we know that God is in control.
